Hi all

I've noticed a strange problem ever since getting a new computer and updating to IE 8 and JAWS 13. I can copy and paste an article from a website into a Word document but not into an email. I have no idea why I could do this with my old computer but can't now. I use Outlook Express and am still using Office 2003. I even tried copying and pasting something from the web into a Word document first and then copying it from the Word document into an email, but this didn't work either. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.

Strange.
What happens when you copy and paste directly in to an email created using outlook alone?

Wayne, I'm not sure this is what you meant, but your reply made me think of copying an pasting the article into an email sent from my Microsoft Outlook address since I have one address for regular outlook and one for outlook express. I prefer outlook express so am used to using it. But strangely enough, the article was successfully pasted into a Microsoft Outlook email. It must be something in my outlook express settings that is not letting me paste, but I have no idea what that might be.

Yes. Smile. That was exactly what I meant and it worked as I expected it should.
Dear what is wrong with Outlook Express is Microsoft has stopped supporting it, so any fresh installs simply aren't going to work perfectly. If I had it do do I'd get my office installed properly and use it completely.
Old and outdated and unsupported software simply will have glitches.

Well actually, I spoke too soon. Even though it initially looked like the article was there when I pasted into an Outlook email, it was no longer there when I went to send it. So I'm not having any luck pasting stuff from the web directly into the body of an email either in Outlook or Outlook Express. Of course, I can paste into a Word document and then send it as an attachment, but I used to be able to paste into the body of an email so am frustrated that I can no longer do this.

sounds like video or resolution to me and nothing at all with the install of outlook express.
try this, copy some text from the internet, and Paste it in to the email and you probably hear blank blank blank. Now, if you shoot over to the jaws currsor you probably actually hear some of the text which you've pasted. If I'm correct, try one further test. paste something in to an email in OE, and send it to someone and ask them if in fact the email had text, if so, you likely have a DCM video hooking issue. You can call fs if this is in fact the case, or write me privately, and I'll help you out.

Interesting idea I must say.

I've probably seen 100 or so of these over the years working FS level 2 support. Any time video is not hooked properly under Windows XP, the most problematic areas were MS products.
